Matthew Hawk

Matthew is a recent graduate of the University of Alabama where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology/Premed, Magna Cum Laude, and a Master of Business Administration, with honors and a GPA of 3.8 for each degree through the STEM Path to the MBA program. Matthew is equipped with strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills through his academic background and has hands-on experience with project management through most of his master's coursework focusing on working within multidisciplinary teams. Some of his experience includes working on a team designing an innovative product using a NASA patent where they adapted a sensor that monitors structural integrity for use inside natural gas pipelines to identify necessary repairs proactively as opposed to reactively, which earned them the Gold Level of Excellence Award in the NASA T2U competition after presentation to staff from NASA. He also worked collaboratively with the Walker Area Community Foundation on a team to design a nature facility and surrounding grounds in order to designate an area as a Forever Wild Property and Nature Preserve in Jasper, Alabama. Where they also helped manage market research, analysis and developed an educational plan for use within the facility. Matthew loves to travel and most recently visited Australia, New Zealand and Fiji through a study abroad program during his MBA where he learned primarily about international business. He also loves playing music and was a member of the Million Dollar Band for 4 years while attending UA where he played the marimba as part of the percussion section. We look forward to the many contributions Matthew will make to this outstanding team!.
