Vetting Vendors & Choosing a Security Partner

If you know our leadership team, and some of their passions; one is collecting and driving classic cars. Not just any cars, trucks, or SUV’s… but rare, different, or highly sought after, should suffice. This hobby, or passion comes with its own set of responsibilities.

Car aficionados (a.k.a “car nuts”) are familiar with the excitement surrounding the unveiling of the new mid-engine Corvette. Manufacture of the completely redesigned sports car was, like other businesses, halted due to the COVID 19 restrictions. Restart of the assembly line was not a simple task, as the car relies on parts from over 400 vendors. Coordinating that many vendors must be a gargantuan task. It requires a level of QA that most companies might lack the time to see through the end.

In fact, coordinating even a few vendors can be one of the most difficult tasks in construction or renovation, ask any General Contractor. From simple issues like timing, specs, product material delivery, to problems related to contractor space overlap, the act of coordinating vendors can run from being an advisor to a referee. The important part of the project is to choose the right vendor partners, and that is not always price driven. Value and quality often out perform low cost leaders in the long run, and if you understand the change order game, then we will say no more. Having a deep understanding of security and scope the first go around, usually weeds out any weaker links.

Overwatch Security Advisors (OSA) often finds that once clients receive our services of assessment, they turn to us for advice on selecting the right vendors, to acting as the general contractor for the entire security portion of the project (yes we can also install). From a simple assessment to overseeing full phases of security installations, OSA can assemble the correct security protocol for your business. We are Total Security – and our people are our strongest assets.
