    parking deck. 3d concept

One of the realities of this strange, viral culture is the resulting necessity of having to start over again, not necessarily from zero, but in many instances close to that. For instance, businesses that just flirted with telecommuting or work-from-home schedules suddenly had to rethink and retool their operations to meet government guidelines for social distancing. Data-comm, Risk and Security solutions suddenly became the precursor to getting any work done at all. In fact, most of our conversations with operations, IT, and technology officers concerned an at home SOP, safety strategies and the liabilities that go along with this. We recently had a zoom call with a school district (40 some odd schools) and the challenges that go along with curriculum and the need for technology to support its teachers, and students. Whoa, how that affected our consult and strategy for a standard operating procedure. OSA wrote the policy and will publish for this district, as well as recommend and potentially implement security services.

Regardless of how big or how small your business is, this hiatus provides everyone the opportunity to look closely at their operational “habits” through risk assessments, threat analysis and security services. Questions should arise in all aspects of your business such as “What did we do right?” and “Where did we get caught by surprise?” Security Solutions are, today, as broad as many other saturated industries. We recently began an access control RFI and RFP for a privately-held food distribution and processor of fine soups. Highly regulated by the USDA, and other standards; OSA must not only put employees, client, and visitor safety at the forefront, but also food safety.

Overwatch Security Advisors (OSA) is a security consulting firm that partners with companies to lower risk and increase productivity and efficiency. In short, OSA can help you start over, however that concept applies to your business. OSA accomplishes this through a security and risk assessment consisting of the following components:

    • Consultation and Orientation – OSA meets with every potential client to discern three things, what the client needs, what OSA can provide, and the synthesis of those two in the form of a list of issues that the client confirms need investigating.
    • Action Plan – OSA takes the list of issues and forms an action plan which guides the OSA assessment team in their inspection and investigation. We work with existing security and safety teams to identify opportunities for progress and to alleviate any redundancy on items which you might already have a handle on.
    • Assessment – OSA’s team of experts follows the issues from the action plan to look for strengths and deficiencies. This assessment looks not only at physical entities, but it also directs the OSA team to the proper players for interviews and opinions. We might spend 2-3 days and nights at your facility, depending on size, it may take longer or go the other way. OSA utilizes government and public service experts who have formerly served in the elite ranks of their departments. SWAT, Seals, HRT, and other department acronyms are popular with our contributors. Physical assessments require a complete peeling back of the onion, and encompass all electronic security systems, and perimeter protections, e.g. cctv-systems, security lights (indoor and outdoor security lighting analysis), and security gates and fencing.
    • Assessment Report – This is the heart of OSA’s mission and contract with every client – the report of the team’s findings. Because OSA sells no products, our trade is our opinions, objective and unbiased. If requested by the client, we can act as contractor to the various subcontractors in their work to implement plan of action and issue resolution. OSA has identified many unknown variables for its valued and trusted partners; we have also installed and GC ‘d many electronic security and perimeter related projects. (ask our clients around the country).

    • Presentation of Report – In this final presentation, OSA presents its findings, and in conjunction with the client, proceeds in assisting with implementing the findings or simply hands over the report for the client’s own use.
    • Follow-through and follow-up – Should the client task OSA with implementing the findings, we ensure any work is done correctly and fully to the best of our ability. OSA then follows up to ensure the client’s satisfaction and training needs are met.

Starting over can be difficult, but it does not have to be complicated. No large project was completed overnight; and most start by taking this first step. That’s OSA’s guarantee if we go to work for you. In areas like physical security, CCTV, cyber security thought processes, and personnel security, OSA is your agent for change and recovery.
