OSA recently completed a solution project that we assessed in the late winter of 2017. The assessment was extensive due to the fact that this low-income housing project converted to a new take-over property in the Northeast. One of our experts made some vital recommendations, which led with securing the perimeter and buildings prior to other rehab. This allowed the operations team to focus on the reinforcement of policy, reducing traffic, and non-desirable (criminal) activity.
We provided approximately five different solutions that all had to integrate with the client’s operations team, and onsite staff. This ranged from a private detail, investigations unit, CCTV, access controls improvement, and off-site monitoring as well as reinforcing door frames with proper, heavier gauge materials. Months of vetting, budgeting, and other related issues had to fall into place to secure such an asset. OSA worked hard to manage the process, budget constraints, and timelines for and alongside the client. Similar to a football game, moments occurred after the 3rd quarter ended which reflected a tired and worn out defense, as well as a hard fought offense, OSA fulfilled its role as coach, motivator and even player, reminding subs and our installers/team the goal was close in sight.
There were several instances where the line wanted to blame the referee, and the quarterback the line, halfback the hand off, and so on…we are refferring to different parties in this installation process. We all came together to realize that a plan does not always work out perfectly but if you deal with adversity and put the endzone in front of you, we can all unite as a team. In this case our common goal was a win, a victory over the challenges this property faced, and the client and OSA came out on top.
After one and half years of advice and rehab/improvements, we realized that the team must play all four quarters of any football game. Have you fallen pray to the thought, it will never happen to us? Sure, we all are guilty of getting too comfortable. If you think it is time to take action, please set in place strategies that fit your needs, and allow us to help you be consistent in your approach, and achieve your goals in security and safety. Revising outdated policy, procedures and testing are at the forefront of our consulting model. They are in fact, an ever-evolving need which you must revisit yearly, often even quarterly.
Enjoy this football and fall season!
