OSA is a proud distributor for Viper Imaging. Viper has recently released the Elevated Body Temperature Detection System – V1; a perfect way for businesses to see accurate body temperature of employees and customers using FLIR.
As a means of helping to prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), many institutions are implementing thermal imaging cameras as a pre-screening device. This system identifies elevated body temperature (EBTI which could be indicative of a fever (one of the symptoms of a viral infection). While these systems do not replace conventional medical testing, they can be used to give an early indication when used in accordance with FDA guidelines.
Automated Non-Contact Temperature Screening Kiosk
Viper Imaging is a leading distributor and integrator of FLIR Systems thermal imagers. The Viper Vl features the FLIR A500, which is designed for body temperature screening and provides exceptional image quality and superior measurement accuracy. It is integrated with ViperVision EBT software which will analyze and compare the data against predetermined parameters.
How it Works
The person to be screened is positioned in front of the kiosk. Correct positioning is easily accomplished as the subject can clearly see their face fill a majority of the predetermined area on the monitor. The main region of interest is on the area of the face nearest the tear ducts (the most representative area for internal body temperature). Within 1-3 seconds, ViperVision EBT software provides a Pass or Fail response. Both on-screen and audible scan response settings are customizable. Viper system design and recommended operation is based on guidelines and best practices set forth by the FDA, IEC, and IOS. There are several factors to consider in making the most accurate temperature measurement possible. The temperature can be greatly affected by focus, distance to target, resolution of the camera, and the speed of the measurement. As a result, Viper automated systems are designed to account for these factors. Further, the Viper V1 includes a blackbody for reference temperature to ensure the most accurate measurement.
